Here are a few answers to our mos frequent questions

  • How do I pay for my Storage?

    To pay for your storage simply select the location you wish to book and then select the unit size or office size required. Complete the application form with your details and upload your photo ID as prompted, you will then be directed to a secure payment page. Alternatively, you can call and speak with one of the storage experts whom can take the payment over the phone. This payment will secure your unit for the first four weeks and you only pay a deposit for your padlock on the sign-up stage. We then invoice every 28 days (4 weeks) in advance and your invoice will be emailed to you in advance of the due date. Payments will then be taken automatically every 28 days (4 weeks) from the card nominated on your first payment.

  • Do I have to pay a deposit when I sign up?

    When you sign up for your unit you will pay for the first 4 weeks and the only deposit you pay is that of your padlock. The cost of your refundable padlock deposit is £40.00, and this will be returned to you when vacate your unit and padlock and keys have been returned.

  • Do I need Insurance?

    We do insist on our customers taking out insurance cover, but we do not take any liability for items stored in our storage facility. We do advise customers to take out their own cover and customers often believe their contents insurance covers their items when in storage, but this is not the case. Speak to your insurer or we can recommend some market leading insurance companies which offer comprehensive insurance cover at some very competitive rates, if required.

  • How secure is the storage compound?

    We take the security of your items and our sites very seriously and so in addition to the automatic gates and 24-hour CCTV, we provide you with a high security steel padlock which is designed to fit tightly under the steel lock box on the units. Using the padlock provided is a condition of using our storage, however there is also space for you to add your own security padlock in addition to the one provided on the arms of the unit door if you so wish.

  • Is there anything I can’t store?

    Blinkbox Storage is happy for you to store most things in your units, however there is some obvious exceptions which you can read in our terms and conditions on your storage agreement which needs to be e-signed upon sign up. Items which are not allowed include explosives, fire arms, compressed oils or gases, tyres, counterfeit or stolen goods, flammable and gases. If you are not sure please feel free to call one of our storage experts to discuss.

  • How much notice do I need to give when I move out?

    We require a minimum of just 2 weeks’ notice prior to the actual move out date. Notice must be given in writing – either by email, post or using the online contact form. Please note if the 2 weeks’ notice is not given in adequate time before your next subscription starts you may be required to pay for another 4 weeks. Please give us as much notice as possible to avoid any additional charges.

  • What is the minimum rental period?

    There is a 1-month minimum rental period, even if you use the storage for shorter than that. You can store for as long or short as you want, there is no maximum rental period. Contracts are automatically renewed on a 4 weeks basis. We require always 2 weeks’ notice to vacate your unit.

  • Do I have any worries about condensation or damp in the containers?

    Be rest assured all our containers are new and water-tight and fully ventilated to ensure your goods are fully protected. If the container is kept dry inside there will be no condensation in all our units. If, however someone brings wet or waterlogged items into the unit this will cause condensation issues as this water is trapped in the unit. Therefore, please ensure all your items such as washing machines and fridges/freezers are completely dry before placing them into storage.

  • Can I change my storage unit if my circumstances change?

    Blinkbox Storage understand that our customers storage needs may change over time and that’s why we offer flexible contracts allowing customers to grow or shrink their storage requirements as necessary. Simply give the storage experts a quick call and we can resolve any storage needs or requirements in a jiffy for you.

  • When can I access my storage units?

    We know our customers need to have flexible times to access their storage units. All units are accessible 7 days a week 365 days of the year. Our opening times are from 5am – 9pm, after these times we set a secure alarm and monitoring system to ensure our units are kept safe.

  • Can I drive up to my unit?

    All customers can drive up to their unit which is very convenient and takes the hassle out of using trolleys and lifts to move their goods.
